While in rehearsal, the Staffordshire Knights try to generate a structured learning environment. They strongly believe in teaching the rudiments via verbal instruction and a series of written exercises.

These exercises are designed to improve individual ability and hence the ensemble. Mastery of these fundamentals develops the corps generally.
