In 1982 Jason started his musical career playing cymbals for Stoke BB. The Boys' Brigade played a big part of his childhood and it's where he spent 11 years rising through the ranks to become an officer.

He played Cello at school, and took up Soprano in 1983, the instrument on which he remained until 2005. In 1989 Jason visited Kansas City for the DCI Summer Music Games, and he has since returned a further 7 times to Buffalo (twice), College Park, Madison (twice), Orlando & Pasadena. 2008 will see him visit DCI in Indianapolis.
 

1992 was the year that the SK idea was first conceived - Jason being one of the founder members - and has since held the responsible post of Corps Director.

Jason lists his favourite UK corps as Imperial Knights and Conquest Alliance, and favourite USA corps as the Phantom Regiment.

His favourite shows are Blue Devils 2002/2003, Railmen 1990,  Cadets of Bergen County 2000, Star of Indiana 1991, Phantom Regiment 2007 as well as Staffordshire Knights 2005
